I'm Joining The Cancer SUCKS Club

When I was a teen, a cousin of mine was diagnosed with leukemia. I'm not sure what type, only that she went into remission with chemo, and is still doing well today. Fast forward about 13 years, and another cousin, same side of the family, was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma.

LMS is a horrible disease, and robbed Kelly of her life, and seeing her grandchildren grow. That was just over a year ago when she was diagnosed. Several months ago, my uncle was diagnosed with colon cancer, which spread to his stomach. He's currently in chemo. He and my aunt were truck drivers, and he had started having troubles breathing on the last day of work- they were making a haul home to turn in their keys, and sign their retirement papers. They went straight to the hospital, where, within days, he was diagnosed with cancer.

These three are all on the same side of my family, which is scary. It's a large family (my father is the youngest of 12 kids), but it scares me to death that this disease is out there robbing anyone of their lives, let alone family.

A few weeks ago, Nick found out that his uncle was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Since then, we have learned that it spread from his groin to his lungs and heart, and is stage 3. He's going to be starting chemo (or has?) soon to try and shrink the growth.

Late last week, and yes, I've been tardy in posting it, and should have posted it immediatly, I found out about a little boy here in Michigan, Noah, who is in the end stages of Neuroblastoma, and is not expected to make it until Christmas.

His last wish is to celebrate Christmas, which his family did do this past weekend. Meanwhile, they are asking for Christmas cards for this 5 year old boy. His story has been viral for almost a week now, and has been verified on snopes.com.

For those in the local area, the family is thanking you for your cards, but requests privacy at this time, as their son is very sick. They have had people knocking on the door and asking to see Noah, which can't and won't happen, as he is very sick.
